Project 2
For years this couple lived in a large spread up town and decided to downsize in Hells Kitchen, but not sacrifice views or amenities. At a dinner party, they mentioned the need to create an outdoor space and fortunately one of the dinner guests knew Just Terraces and suggested they contact us. With an eye for elegance and durability we used hardwoods and limestone placed on modular adjusting pedestals allowing access to the roof at any time—an important practicality when creating lavish environments on rooftops. Designed elements were to look built in, but could be disassembled and moved at a moments notice. From inside the Birch Trees and Trumpet creeper vines lightly filtered the view to give a sense of depth affording the client the illusion of a larger outdoor garden.
Chris and the Just Terraces team are great! They worked with us to create a unique and
relaxing oasis amongst the busy streets and high rises of NYC. Most importantly they
listened... listened and adjusted to concerns and came with solutions. For instance: we
wanted stone pavers, but all the samples were imported... we wanted “within 100 mile
radius” in order to be a bit eco-friendly. Chris and his team found
an awesome solution—just over the river in Pennsylvania. The stone was delivered and
installed and it is fantastic!
