Just Terraces® has been operating in New York City since July 2005. Project locations include penthouse rooftops, courtyards, brownstone rooftops, building set backs and garage roofs. Since it’s inception, Just Terraces has created a niche in envisioning and creating spectacular outdoor environments in both commercial and residential markets. Starwood, The Carlyle, Chloé, Shristi Corp, The Jack Parker Group and others have turned to Just Terraces to support their brand and vision in the outdoor environment. Numerous private clients also rely upon Just Terraces’ unique ability to bring an individual’s lifestyle to the outdoor realm.
Just Terraces® projects are primarily in urban environments including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris and Athens. Just Terraces created outdoor environments for the 2008 Showtime Metropolitan Home Show House on Gramercy Park and the 2009 Hampton’s Show House in Watermill. Just Terraces® designed and installed an outdoor make over for LXTV Open House New York.
Chris
Chris Myers is an award winning creative director and founder of Just Terraces. His background as a set designer and art director with The Walt Disney Company give him the skills to evaluate the possibilities and make outdoor dreams reality. Chris’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design ensures he approaches design with a fine art sensibility and with limitless ideas. Chris is the lead designer and fully owns and manages Just Terraces®. Chris is involved in the design and process of every project. Chris has designed a line of planters and furniture that have been featured in New York Spaces and Traditional Home magazines and the 2009 Hamptons Show House.
Brett
While working for Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios, and Warner Brothers, Brett designed theme parks, creating spaces to delight the senses, transporting the guest to another world. This background of theme park design gave him a keen awareness of his surroundings and a passion for creating destinations one doesn’t want to leave. His attention to detail is invaluable in transforming an inspired idea into reality. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, with a BS degree in Landscape Architecture and has been practicing Landscape Architecture more than twenty-five years. Licensed in both Florida and California, Brett is a Senior Designer with Just Terraces.
Kate
Kate’s interest in gardens began as a child, as much of her time was spent outdoors in Atlanta, Georgia. A high school summer job at EDAW sent her in the direction of landscape design. After graduating from the leading undergraduate program in Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia, she moved to London to study and visit English and European gardens. Kate interned with the formidable Tom Stuart-Smith in London and volunteered at the Landscape Institute library. Moving to New York City in the fall of 2008, she began working with Chris Myers at Just Terraces. As design associate, Kate facilitates design efforts and scheduling. She is the voice of Just Terraces.
